YUMMY!! Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings...

I finally decided it was time to get the crockpot down today!  I have always loved cooking in the crockpot. They are so easy to use and no matter what you cook, it always taste like you have slaved over it all day.  Well little does Logan know.. I sure didn't slave over it!  One recipe that I made all the time for Logan's friends while in College was Chicken and Dumplings.  It was a big hit and everyone always asked for more!!

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • A little salt, a little pepper, and whatever else you can find!
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces or I like use Mary B's already made frozen dumplings.
  • Or you can do it the hard way and make your own dumplings:
2  cups sifted flour
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4  teaspoon salt
3   tablespoon butter
1/4  cup milk
1  egg

Beat egg and 3/4 cup milk together.  Pour into remaining ingredinets.  Mix and roll thin.  Cut in strips and drop in boiling broth.

1.Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker along with your spices and fill with enough water  or (chicken broth---that's what I like to use) to cover.
          2. Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.

Nothing better than coming home from a long day to this yummy dish!! Enjoy!!

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. ” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

So... I have decided since I wake up each morning to encouraging words why not share them with you!  You never know who might need this little pick me up to get through their day.  There are many days that I have to remind myself everything will be ok as long as I keep praying and trusting in the Lord!! Hope this makes your day better!  :)

Lily getting her hair done..

This afternoon I met Emily and Lily in Jonesboro. Emily had a hair
appointment and I needed to get the last minute things for the house.
Lily was so good! She loved going to see Jennifer and get her hair done!

So far my favorite thing..

I love everything about our new house but nothing is better than a
nice relaxing bath at night. I absolutely love our master bathroom!

Were getting our master bedroom together!

Home sweet home!

What better time of the year than now to decorate your front porch.
Thank you to Emily and Lily's Greenhouse for having such beautiful
mums and autumn decorations! The are much prettier in the day so I
will post another picture when they are all bloomed. I really hope I
don't kill them!

Washer leak! :(

I was excited to get our washer and dryer so I could start doing
laundry. That was until I washed the first load and our laundry room
was flooded! Sears told me I used to much detergent but I didn't
believe that. I tried it again without detergent this time and it
still leaked. Finally, I had enough and called again this time they
told me to hold a button down for 3 seconds and about a minute later
they told me the problem! Needless to say we are getting a new washer
tomorrow! Thank you to my wonderful mother-in-law for letting me
borrow her washer and dryer or else doing our laundry for us while we
lived in the camper! Hopefully tomorrow I will have a new "non-
leaking" washer!

It's starting to feel more like a home!

All the cabinets are just about full. The only thing we are waiting on
is cabinet tops! They should be installed by Wednesday, but that's not
keeping us from staying here!!

Lily is helping clean up and popping all the bubbles!
