We made it home..

After a week of being at Nonna and Poppa's due to the ice storm we finally made it home. Last Wednesday Mullen and I headed to West Memphis because daddy was going to be out of town at a rice conference and we were expecting snow and ice. Well we made it Wednesday and Thursday Daddy came to West Memphis since everyone was leaving the meetings due to weather. Friday Nonna was out of school due to the threat of bad weather and then it didn't do anything worth getting all worked up about! This is normally what happens and I am perfectly fine with it. I am not good with being snowed in and it certainly makes me a little nervous with a newborn! You never know when you might have an emergency or need something and I didn't want to be without power. Thankfully Success never lost power but it did get lots of snow and ice. I loved getting picture updates throughout the day from Angie and Grams!

Look at all that snow! It was beautiful!!

Beautiful blue skies and snow!

I hate Mullen missed his first snow fall, but if the weather predictions are right he will see a lot more this winter! I doubt he even knew he missed it! :)

I did decide Friday morning I might should go to Walmart and get a few extra things just in case. Well at 6:15 in the morning this is what it looked like!

The bread man stocking up after the run on bread and milk! I still don't know why that is a must. I'm not going for bread if I'm snowed in!

Really.. This is the line at 6:30 in the morning??

While in West Memphis we were pretty lazy. We enjoyed lots of family time, monogrammed presents and Mullen some goodies (thanks to Em), and did online Christmas shopping because it was a little too cold to go too many places!

Good Morning mommy!

Layne and the monogram machine were hard at work!

Movie and a Pizza with Aunt Brooke and Uncle Ray!

Sweet boy in one of his Christmas outfits!

Lots of Lily and Layne time! Lily will be a great babysitter one of these days when her arm doesn't go numb from holding the chunky monkey haha!

Look at Layne's sweet smile!

We had a good visit with Betty!

On our way back home we went to see Jennifer and Brooke! We love our time with these two!

Mullen was so happy to see them!

When we got home we went to see Nanaw and papa, Grams, and Mullen's sweet cousins! We sure missed them all.

Mullen had to check out the lights on Nanaw's tree.

Sweet boys!! Cousin love!

We are glad to be home but had a great time at Nonna and Poppa's house!

Until next time...

2 month check up!

Last week Mullen had to go for his 2 month check up and to get the dreaded 2 month shots! Logan and I kept saying all week how bad we felt for the little guy, but I think his shots hurt us more than they did him! He did great and by the way he acted you never would've known he had them if not for me telling you.

Waiting on Dr. Bailey!

Our sweet baby boy is growing like a weed and is now 14lbs. and 10 oz. What can I say the boy likes to eat! :) I love my chunky monkey!

Mullen weighing in! I didn't do so good on the picture this time.

Here is his first weigh in when he was a little over 2 weeks old.

And again at 5 weeks!

Mullen passed his tummy time test with flying colors. Dr. Bailey said he had the form of a 4 month old, so that might mean he will be rolling over and trying to crawl a little early. This little guy has always been a mover since day one and they always had the hardest times getting ultrasounds and his heartbeat because of this. I think he gets this from his mommy that can't sit still for anything!

Sweet baby all tuckered out from his shots.

I can't thank God enough for this precious, HEALTHY, bundle of joy!

I can't help but pray for all the sweet babies that are in the NICU dealing with health issues and those dealing with medical illnesses. It breaks my heart having to think what their families are going through. What short time we were in there was such an eye opener. Please say a special prayers for these babies!

Until next time...

Mullen's First Santa Visit...

was a success!! Yesterday we took Mullen to the West Memphis mall to a small arts and crafts show they were having and to see Ho Ho! I wasn't sure how he would do since he hadn't taken a nap all morning. I figured he would be asleep the minute we got in the car, but he did great! This might be the only year he's not screaming and crying. I can only hope he likes Santa next year!

Yesterday morning I asked Mullen about Santa and he got to kicking and smiling, so I knew we had to go see him!

Getting ready to go see the jolly ole guy!

While we were getting ready Ms. Kathy came by to see us!

How precious is this picture!! This is the Santa that comes to mom's school every year and he is such a good Santa!

Santa I've been really good this year please bring me a tractor, a wagon, and some toys to play with! Most importantly please bring me lots of formula since I'm a growing baby!

This little guy was tuckered out. Just as soon as he saw Santa he was asleep!

After Santa we went over to Memphis to try and get some Christmas shopping done and to get Mullen a pair of shoes. Cotton tails has the cutest kids shoes I could buy them all if only I could afford them all. :)

Mullen loves his new shoes! He just kicked and kicked trying to figure out what was on his feet. These shoes were an early Christmas present from Nonna and Poppa and are the sweetest little shoes.

After shoe shopping we headed to Brooke and Ray's for dinner. Emily and Caleb were going to dinner to celebrate Adam's 30th birthday so they brought the kids to play.

Mullen loves playing with Aunt Brooke.

Uncle Logan and Little Red Riding Hood.

Now she is Elvis!!

Nonna, Poppa, and their grand kids. It was hard to get a good one with an active 2 year old!

Sweet cousins in their matching pj's!

What a fun night with family! I am so blessed to have such a close family!

Until next time...

Happy Birthday Emily and Ladies Night

Yesterday was Emily's birthday!! We hope her day was just as fabulous as she is! I'm so thankful to have such an amazing sister that will go out of her way to help in anyway possible and Mullen is lucky to call her his aunt! This saying is so true... "Great sisters get promoted to Aunt"! God sure knew what he was doing when he blessed me with two truly amazing sisters that I could not live without!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Emily!!

We love you so much and can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend!

Tonight we went to the annual Ladies Night that the Chamber puts on every year! We always go as a family and have a good time! The night consists of social time, dinner, bingo, door prizes, and the announcement of the table decorating contest. Angie and Glenna came and took care of Mullen so Logan and I could attend! I am so so thankful to have these two ladies in my life and that they love Mullen so much!! It was not easy leaving him for a few hours but it was easier knowing he was well taken care of! I know Mullen will love these sweet ladies just as much as I do one day!

Mullen was excited Glenna and Angie were coming to play!!

Mullen looks so big up to Glenna!

We were pretty sad Libby was stuck in class and couldn't join in on all the fun!

Thanks again to Angie and Glenna for loving on Mullen while mommy and daddy were gone!

The winner of the table contest!

2nd place winner!

I didn't get a picture of the third place winner.

Some people go to the extreme, but we like to keep ours simple and sweet! I loved our rustic decor!

Until next time...
